2 Track, 2.5 Track and 3 Track Sliding Windows
A 2 track window has two glass panels. A 2.5 track adds a slim track for a mosquito mesh. A 3 track has a full third track, for a mesh or an extra glass panel.
What the tracks mean
- 2 track: two sliding glass panels. Simple and economical.
- 2.5 track: two glass panels plus a half-width track for a sliding mosquito mesh.
- 3 track: three full tracks, for three glass panels or two glass and one mesh, so more of the opening can be open.
Which to choose
- Bedrooms: 2.5 track with mesh, to keep mosquitoes out with the window open.
- Halls and wide openings: 3 track, so a larger part opens.
- Store rooms or rarely opened windows: 2 track.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add a mesh to a 2 track window later?
Not on its own track. You would need a separate fixed or openable mesh frame. If you want mesh, choose 2.5 or 3 track from the start.
