How to Clean and Maintain uPVC Windows

Wipe the frames with mild soap water, vacuum the tracks, keep the drainage holes clear and put a drop of oil on locks and hinges a couple of times a year. No painting is ever needed.

Every month

  • Wipe frames with a soft cloth and mild soap water.
  • Vacuum dust from the sliding tracks.

Every few months

  • Check that the small drainage holes at the bottom of the frame are clear, so rain water drains out.
  • Put a drop of light machine oil on locks, hinges and handles.
  • Check the rubber seals are in place.

Avoid

  • Harsh chemicals, thinner or abrasive powders on the frames.
  • Forcing a stuck sash: call us instead, it is usually a quick adjustment.
